Zipper Update

In my last post I was so excited about the zipper stops I found. Well I have to tell you that I found another place to purchase my zippers. I had been there before but didn’t pick up a business card. And in NY you have to pick up a card and make notes on the back. This place sells all colors and sizes. And get this. I thought I was all that because I purchased zipper stops for 10 cents each. How about this place sells the stops at 100 for 6.00. I cannot tell you how I felt. They sell bronze, silver and gold teeth zippers. I purchased these 36inch separating zippers for 3.50 each. And she gave me 4 stops free because, of course I didn’t want 36 inch separating zippers. The store is called SIL Thread Inc. Check them out. The folks there are super nice and the zippers are really reasonable. And you can order on line.

Have you been wondering where all the different size zippers are coming from?? You cant go in a store theses days without seeing a jacket or dress with an odd exposed zipper. Now that the zippers are exposed, you have to show all the parts. I needed an odd size for this top I made. I remembered that  Pacific Trim sells zippers on a roll like trim. You can buy as much or as little as you want its sold by the inch. So I figured they should have the stops. I showed them the size of the zipper teeth and she pulled the stops. They were 10 cents each. These stops are a size 5, they had different sizes. Mood sells their 4 inch zippers for 4.99. I could not bring lf to pay that for a 4 inch zipper. You can order them on line. I plan to purchase a few dozen before I leave  NY.

What we do for Fashion

Its Fashion week here in NYC. I have been staying in the garment district, in the heart of everything 2 blocks from Mood. My room was 225.00 per night. Fashion week started Thursday, my tiny 4x4 is now renting for 399.00 per night. Also the United Nations has their general assembly after fashion week.  Needless to say, I am not in the garment district any more. I have been banished to the suburbs. But the good thing is, I am in NY for fashion week. I have always wanted to be here for fashion week. I could not get a ticket for any of the shows but its free to go down to Lincoln Center and people watch. And that's what me and hubby did.


Not much going on while we were down there, just folks hanging out.
