The Ultimate Sewing Tool

I was in my sewing room ripping out sleeves, that for some reason I just can’t get them to behave. We have all been there. My mind started to wonder what I would do without this handy tool called the seam ripper. I remember when I first started sewing we had to use a single edge razor blade or straight pins to rip seams. What a chore. Back then you almost wanted to start over because you knew you would rip the fabric.  Now it looks like I am buying a seam ripper once a month. As they get dull I toss them and open another one. I have tried most of them but the one that works best for me is the Dritz disposable. I call them disposable because they are 1.99 at most fabric store and less at Walmart. They are sharp and really get the job done. Well got to go, I have one more sleeve to rip.

It Feels Like Spring?

Its really hard to make cloths for winter because we never had a winter here, it was in the 70's today. I picked up this olive linen last yr on a trip to NYC. I have had it cut out for a year and some how I failed to sew it. I purchased some large zip lock bags from the container store and I store all of my items that I cut out in the bags with the buttons, interfacing patterns. I have a bin in my sewing room called works in progress.I decided the other day to just whip it up. I plan on wearing orange or yellow with it. BTW had the pants cut also but I only made the jacket.

Labels

Every one has been asking about the labels in my clothes. Well its a long story but here's the short of it. I live in Atlanta but we also have a home in Charleston.  Hence the name of the lable. I not only sew for myself but others as well here and in Charleston, alterations, dressmaking etc...  Since I have 6 personalities and they all sew why not add one of the personalities to the label since she does the work too!
Any way the labels are from Charm Labels. I think the labels make anything you make look professional.
