Zippers Zippers Zippers

Ok passed a new store today. Its called SIL Thread. They sell YKK zippers 36inch separating zippers for 4.00. Invisible zipper for 1.00. They are located at 257 West 38th St. I took the bus today instead of the subway, need a change of pace. The phone number is 212 997-8949. They are working on their web site but you can call them, if you want to place an order. 4.00 for 36 inch separating zipper is quite good. I bought one from Pacific Trim. I paid 16.00 for it. I took it back because I could not see myself paying more for the zipper than the fabric. Next week I will visit more fabric stores. I have been stuck on notions lately. When I leave, I will have to make visits twice a year to buy my fabric and notions.

Around The Word In Fashion

I know its been a while since you have heard from me. I did get to go home for Memorial weekend. Made a few things. I was very happy to be home in my sewing room.  I had to tell you about this fabulous store. I passed by a few weeks ago and could not find it. Finally passed by again wrote the address down this time. I am standing in there looking at all the magazines from 4.99 to 200.00 a piece. This very nice lady was taking to me about the different magazines, you know which ones are good and which ones were not.. We go to the counter she spends over 400.00 for about 5 magazines.  She and I are talking to the owner about rent prices in NY. So pulls up her long hair in a bun, I am thinking her face looks very familiar. Then we started talking about the mannequin stencils. Its staring to rain now we were both in the store about 45 minutes, laughing talking. She left before I did. I told the owner, that lady looked very familiar, he replied that was Anna Sui.

WOW. I bought my 2 little magazines that were on sale 20.00 a piece and walked to my hotel I was surprised that in NYC you never know who you will run into. If you are ever in NYC, this place is a must check out . But make sure you have enough time. I am going back tomorrow.Seriously this store has every fashion magazine money can buy.
