Vogue 8815

This is one of my favorite tops and it won best  pattern in 2012 on pattern review.  I just haven't had the time to make one except for the top I made while on the road. I always save pictures in my idea folder and when I need to make something and don't have any ideas (mind goes blank sometimes) I go back to that folder, and there you have it. This was made from a black heavy ponte knit that I purchased while in NY.
I saw this dress on Ann Taylor's web site for fall 2012 and got the idea to do the skirt.

Measure twice cut once

Craig and I do a lot of home improvements, one of out motto's is measure twice cut once  hence this pattern Simplicity 3918.
I often buy patterns that are the wrong size but because I can alter them, I don't worry about it. I like to buy them larger than smaller. This little top was simple and you know I am all about 1 yard patterns. With the alterations I did, I think anyone can wear this top, and make it your own. I did my FBA and raised the armhole. On my next one I may bring the neck line up a tad, maybe.

My version of PUCCI

I purchased this fabric a long, long time ago. Who knows where. I decided to make a long dress since this is the trend again this summer. Last summer summer I didn't get a chance to wear stuff like this because I was always in a suit. So I am making up for it this year.

This summer I am going to be cute!!!! I probably paid 2 or 3$ per yard for it. I bought it because when I saw it I immediately thought of Emilio Pucci
This dress turned out so good I cut another one. It covered the girls without having to pin it closed.
Of course I had to do my girly girl adjustment, I am getting pretty good at it.

Great to have friends you don't know, who give good advise.

Well thanks to Faye and theknitmachinequeen , I got my GROOVE back. They both gave me excellent advise which I followed. Although I didn't need to buy anymore fabric. You see I have my own store down stairs. I could't  help but purchase this fabric to match these pants I made last summer and never found the right top to go with them.I can tell I am back because I started sweating a sure sign of adrenaline.
Feels good to be back.
