Things I made for my trip

We know how much I love animal print so I had to may my infamous 1 yard top from the leopard print McCall’s 6282 . You know I raved about this top a few months ago. I used Vogue 1119 for the black top. I love this pattern.  I have never made the dress it  looks to complicated to me. This pattern calls for you to cut the dress on a bias but I wanted to make the top a little longer. I found that if you use a light weight stretch fabric you don’t have to cut on the bias. The skirt is from  a store bought vintage skirt that fit me very well so I took it apart and all my skirts are made from this pattern.I love it because it a pencil skirt  and I am so short but it works for me.
The multi-color top is a stretch silk. I used McCall’s 5671. I think I picked this piece up for 1.99 a yard. I have had it in my stash for a few years now and felt since, I was going to Miami it was appropriate because it’s all about color down there.  I also made 2 pair straight leg pants in black and beige. I have a confession to make. I only wore shorts, swimsuit, sarong and the leopard top. It was that kind of trip.............................

Target Missoni

I was up last night at 12:30 trying to log on to Targets web site to snatch up some Missoni. The web site said check back 1st thing in the morning. I was up at 6:30 the site was down. I got back on at 7:30 selected my items the dress below and the flats. Walked away from the computer to get my credit card and I could not purchase the items because the site CRASHED. So I went to my local Target and was able to get the dress but the shoes didn't fit. You should have seen the chaos. They sold out on line. The Ebay folks bought them out. I have always liked Missoni . Glad I have the dress, cant wait to wear
 it. I am happy.

Back from The Sun!!!!

I cant believe I haven't posted since August 17th. I have an excuse. I have been on vacation for the last week. And prior to that, I have been so busy sewing for my trip, that I haven't had time to post. We were in sunny Ft Lauderdale FL the hotel was 5 min from the beach. We ended up going to West Palm beach to visit relatives, Boca Raton to do some shopping, South Beach to party and drink Mojitos and the Bahama's just because it was so close. Not to mention the best Cuban food around. I wont even try to show you some of the things  I made for my trip today. And no I didnt even try to find any Fabric Stores this time. Just wanted to say that I am alive and well and a shade darker than I was when I left LOL.
