Half Hour Top

So in the last few weeks, I have been into making things that don't take to much of my time. I has been so nice outside and we have been working on an outdoor fountain that we finally completed. So since I cant sew out side I haven't been, (no excuse right)?  So, I came across this pattern. McCalls 6282 its not an amazing fit pattern but it fits amazingly. Its  Palmer Pletsch. If you know anything about Palmer Pletsch patterns they give extra fitting instructions for the girls and the boys LOL. What I did differently was,  I did not line the top  as the instructions said and I added a few inches on the cowl neck width  to make the plunge deeper. So now, I am looking through my binds trying to find 1 yard pieces so that I can make a few more of theses cute tops.

Serger Part II

So I still could not give away 85.00 to have my serger repaired. So I kept looking on line because I was sure that some one out there in cyberland had  the same issue as I. I found this neat web site called  Laura's Blog she had instructions on how a set the timing on sergers. I must admit when I first started I made matters worse. And I thought OMG! what have I done. So I decided to compare the loopers on my other serger to see how close they were together and what  do ya know "Timing is everything!!! I fixed it.
Thank You Laura

LBD- Little Black Dress

I was window shopping on line, this is the way I get my inspirations.Gas is too high to go to the mall these days. However, I do like going to the mall because at times the pictures don't do justice. And i love the feel of the fabric. I came across the gorgeous dress by Oscar de la Renta. His clothes are so classic and well worth the penny. I am not going to say how much this dress cost , you can check it out for yourself. This dress is from his Spring 2011 collection . I had the opportunity to meet him in person several years ago. He is one of the nicest and most humble men (to be so rich LOL) you will ever meet.

Little Dresses

The girls came home for Easter and I am just getting around to posting. Of course I had to make them dresses for church....I'm not going to mention what patterns I used because basically I used bits and pieces from 3 patterns. I must say that I cut and sewed the dresses in one day. Little dresses are so easy and you can be so creative. I didnt have their measurements so I just eyeballed it. After all having them for 8 months there sizes were embedded in my head.  They were so excited when they got here to see the dresses all finished and ready.  I promised them that I would send them a new dress once a month. Stay Tuned...
