Look What Else Matches the Kors Blouse

So I made this blouse Butterick 5186 and thought, wow this would be great for a jacket, simple unlined cute. Originally I was only going to make a jacket to wear with jeans (I like to mix it up like that).  I had 4 yards of Black Wool Crepe in my stash and the jacket/blouse came out so good I decided to make some pants. Black always work. I must say I am very pleased at how this turned out. I also made a pencil skirt to match.

MICHEAL KORS BLOUSE

I am always on  Neimans, Saks, Bergdorf Goodmans and Bloomingdales web site looking for new ideas and inspirations. I was at my local fabric store and found this beautiful 100% silk fabric and had not idea what I wanted to make. I just knew that I had to have the fabric. After all is was only 1.00 per yard. Even if I made a scarf, that would be ok. So I am looking on Bloomie's site and to see whats on sale. I always finds that that narrows my search. Look at this blouse, which I might add is also 100% silk. And the price was OMG only 799.00 on sale. I tried to find a pattern similar to the Kors blouse. I  used  Simplicity 2756 which had the same lies as the Kors blouse. I added the tie. This fabric was a little slippery so instead of using pins, I used my weights. And I used quilting cotton for the interfacting.

Spring, Spring where are you???

OK I know that its too early to start thinking about spring. I still have 3 wool suits cut out. I decided since it has been cold and dreary I would make myself feel good by making a spring dress  Mccalls 5801 . I purchased this fabulous cotton fabric from Gail K Fabric about 2 years ago. So I am cutting the dress this weekend and. I noticed that I did not have enough  for the sash. So I went back with a swatch of the fabric. After all this time, they knew right where it was and pointed me in the right direction. Now if you have ever been to Gail K , you know that this was a task within itself.I was totally impress and vowed never to shop any place else ever again ( yea right).

BYE BYE HOLIDAYS

Well the holidays are over and I am so very glad. I have been in my sewing room trying to be creative. I got some new sewing books for Xmas.  Its very, cold here so the only thing to do would be to bundle up and sew. We were on the way to a holiday party. The suite was purchased. I lost a few inches and can ware it again. The top is from Vogue 1119. Its a dress pattern but I have a habit of not sticking to the pattern. I love the draping of the top so much. I have made 4 tops so far from this pattern. I only takes  1 yard of 60 in fabric.
